Pricing.

A quick search of Google will show that very few Plumbing & Heating companies list their prices on their website, even less operate on a fixed price basis, with many choosing to charge their clients by the hour or by the day.

'The longer they take, the more profit they make!'

. . . it's a great business model for the company, but not so good for their clients.

At Exclusive Trades we charge for the results we provide, not the amount of time it takes us to achieve those results, meaning once you have been given a price, if it takes us five minutes, five hours or five days to complete the work, your price will not change!

To determine if our pricing model is suitable for you, imagine for a moment that you have a broken boiler.

In the first scenario you call in a Gas Safe Engineer to look at your boiler and after 4 hours of work, they manage to get your boiler working and they charge you £200 for the repair.

In the next scenario you call in a Gas Safe Enginneer that has made significant investments in advanced training courses and as a result of this training, they are able to repair the SAME fault on your boiler in just 15 minutes, but they also charge you £200 for the repair.

If you think you would resent paying the more experienced engineer £200 for what appears to be 15 minutes work, this company is not for you and I recommend you look for an alternative company to help you.

However, if you would understand this faster repair was only possible because of a significant finacial investment in advanced training prior to attending your property, this company would be suitable for you.

Have you noticed that when someone buys something online, they are often happy to pay more for a faster service like 'Next Day Delivery', but when a tradesman provides a faster service, people will often say they have been conned?

For services such as Plumbing, Hot Water or Central Heating Fault finding & Gas leaks, we have a diagnostic fee of £97.00.

This fee covers our costs to attend your property, assess the installation/faults and provide you with fixed price options to resolve your problem.

Other services such as 'Gas Safety Inspections' & 'Standard Boiler Servicing' are fixed price services charged at our standard appointment fee of £187,00 and Emergency Appointments are available 24 hours a day for £297.00. plus materials.

All payments must be completed BEFORE we start any work.

Price Match:

All of our work is completed to the highest standard using quality materials, which means we will never be the cheapest company in town and we will never offer to beat (or match) another companies price.

Whilst another company may be willing to use cheaper (Low Quality) materials, or maybe 'Forget' certain regulations in order to eliminate the cost of safety valves to help keep their costs down and offer you a lower price, this is not one of those companies!

Upon completion of our work, we welcome ANY inspection to ensure it fully complies with Gas Regulations, Water Regulations, Building Regulations & Legionnaires Disease Prevention Guidelines!

Materials:

All pipework installed will be copper, unless you already have plastic supply pipes installed and even in this situation, where it is practical, we will adapt to copper tube to provide you with a higher quality installation.

Whilst we insist on supplying all 'Pipework & Fittings' and any 'Boiler Spares' to ensure they are suitable for the installation, when it comes to fixtures/appliances (Taps, Radiators, Gas Hobs, etc) we are happy for these to be supplied by you as long as they are fit for purpose! (For example, taps must be labeled as 'WRAS Approved').

Where an appointment is made to install an item supplied by yourself and it is found to be defective, (if it has parts missing preventing it's installation or it is damaged), or if you have purchased an item that is not suitable for the installation in England (Such as taps that are not labeled as 'WRAS Approved'). Maybe you have purchased a gas appliance such as a fire or hob that has specific safety requirements relating to it's installation that would not be met if installed at your property?   In these instances, our fee for the appointment will still be due in full, even if no work takes place.  If the item is installed and upon testing it is found to be defective, additional charges will apply to removing the new 'faulty' item so it can be returned and also to installing the new 'replacement' item when it arrives.

It's not uncommon for new taps to leak, new radiators frequently arrive damaged/dented and this is only seen when they are un-packed ready to be installed. Radiators can also arrive full of rust as seen below! (The video clip below shows a NEW radiator that the client supplied being opened.)

Any items supplied by Exclusive Trades that are found to be defective will be replaced at no additional charge, however as it's not uncommon to purchase faulty materials or appliances, any materials supplied by Exclusive Trades will be charged at cost + 100% (Regardless of us encountering a fault with your specific items) this allows us to cover the total costs to the company when these things happen.   As mentioned above, if you wish to risk sourcing your own parts, we are happy to install them providing they are compliant with all regulations.
